Shabbat services

Our Kabbalat Shabbat services are a hallmark of the Ghetto Shul experience. Held in the inspiring style of Reb Shlomo Carlebach, they are full of joyous singing and heartfelt dancing. Whether one knows enough Hebrew to follow is inconsequential; song transcends language barriers and allows for a means of participation and a means of connecting to the services, regardless of one’s background.

Kabbalat Shabbat Services are held weekly during the school year (September – April), and usually extend into May and part of June as well. They are followed by a sit-down Shabbat dinner that itself is often accompanied by more song and words of Torah from Leibish and students.

As well, Ghetto Shul holds Shabbat morning services on a weekly basis, and they are followed by a Kiddush lunch.

Weekday Shacharit

Weekday Morning services are held at 7:30 every morning except Sunday. A bagel breakfast and coffee are served.

Meals

We ask you to please RSVP to us at ghettoshul@gmail.com by Tuesday each week so that we know you are coming and order food for you.  Please join us for delicious lunch after shabbat morning services, that includes hot chulent! We also have mincha and maariv services, with seudah shlishit, filled with food and song.

In general, Ghetto Shul offers holiday meals for Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, some days of Passover, and Shavuot. Holiday services are usually a separate cost and the prices are advertised with the holiday schedules.
